Nigeria: Abductors of Kaduna Village Head Demand N16m, Cough Syrup, 3 Bikes

23 April 2024

The abductors of the Village Head of Bishini in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State, Samuel Danbayi, have demanded a N16 million ransom, cough syrup and three motorcycles.

City & Crime earlier reported that bandits last Friday invaded the chief's palace and whisked him, alongside his wife and five children, away.

But an aide to the chief told our reporter that the wife and two among the children escaped from their abductors on Saturday.

While speaking with our reporter through telephone on Monday, he said the bandits' leader, who spoke with one of the phones of the chief's family members on Sunday, said the bandits demanded N16m, a carton of cough syrup and three motorcycles.

The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, SP Hassan Mansur, could not be reached to react on the development.
