L'aquila — Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos, Friday in L'Aquila, Italy, said that food security is one of the concerns of the African continent, due to its implications in health, productivity, social and political stability and economic growth, Angop learnt.
"I think we can work around two axis, being the first that of keeping the minimum food and medicine reserves for emergency and humanitarian support to needy people", said president José Eduardo dos Santos during his speech at G-8 summit.
The other one, he added, is to work in order to adopt strategies, national and regional programmes in the domain of agriculture, commerce, transports, water and professional training, that can be implemented with the support and experience of specialised international institutions.
Many other areas demand the creation of networks of co-operation and joint work, mainly for the promotion of peace, security and democracy, said the Angolan president.
