Gamcel presents awards to the winners of the 'Beauty with brain contest' at the University of the Gambia (UTG).
Speaking at the programme, Mrs Fatoumata Sanyang, the Welfare Director of the Students' Union said 'it is not only a presentation but also strengthening the talents of the students at the University and also to ensure that their relationship with Gamcel continues to exist.'
Mr. Baboucarr Cham, who spoke on behalf of the Organising Committee, said the students at the university face a lot of challenges and one of which is financial.
He said before the University was a little bit dormant when it comes to extra curricular activities and that is why the Students Union came up with the initiative to organize the Ambassador of UTG, the main objectives of which are to raise funds to assist students who are financially needy students, create understanding among students and also create a platform where females at the university can express their talents.
