Angola: French Ambassador Stresses Relations With Country

9 July 2009

Luanda — The relations between Angola and France have been improving a lot in the social, economic and political spheres, taking into account the the progress in the co-operation between both sides, said the ambassador to the Southern African country, Francis Blondet.

The diplomat said so at a press conference that served to assess the activities of the European country in Angola, under the commemorations of France's national day, July 14.

According to the diplomat, Angolan authorities are available to receive French investors, technicians and experts, as in his opinion, this may contribute to the country's development.

Francis Blondet also said that bilateral co-operation was re-launched after the meeting between the heads of State of Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos, and France, Nicolas Sarkozy, in August, 2007, to New York (USA).

The diplomat considered the visit of France's secretary of External Commerce and the holding of the Franco-Angolan forum, in May this year, as the highlight of the co-operation process.
