Luanda — The chief of the Namibian Defence Forces, Martin Challi, Tuesday in Luanda, congratulated Angola on its serious engagement in organising the African Football Cup of Nations (CAN2010).
The officer was speaking to Angop on the fringes of the opening of the 16th session of the Angola/Namibia joint bilateral commission on defence and security taking place in Luanda.
He said on the occasion that the organisation of such a prestigious event in Angola was almost unthinkable in the past, but the environment of peace prevailing in the country has made it possible.
Angola will for the first time host the CAN from January 10-31. the event will take place in four Angolan cities, namely Luanda, Cabinda, Benguela and Huila.
