Harare — IN an incident that has left Chitungwiza residents dumbfounded, a 42-year-old man recently fell from an avocado tree at his father-in-law's house and died shortly afterwards on admission to hospital.
Kudakwashe Matadi had climbed up the tree to pick ripe fruit on July 4 at around 4pm, when he lost his footing while climbing down, sustaining serious injuries. When The Herald visited the home in Unit D yesterday, mourners were gathered and arrangements had been made for Matadi to be buried at Unit L Cemetery.
Narrating the tragedy, a close relative, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said initially the deceased's father-in-law wanted to climb the tree but Matadi insisted that it was his duty as a son-in-law to do so.
"After picking the avocado fruit, Matadi fell from the tree as he climbed down," she said. She said Matadi had earlier said that he could not see his way down as it was getting dark, but before they could answer him, he slipped and fell down. Ms Tambudzai Masarirambi, the deceased's wife, said on the fateful day she had gone to Mbare and was surprised to hear the shocking news about her husband's death on her way back.

It must of been Rafiki falling out of his tree again and hence why he screams a lot.
No Zola, I think it was this Zimbabwean airmarshall (or the airforce) trying to get some experience in the air.
NewsFlash. A UFO was sighted over the Matusadona Mountains so the Zimbabwe airforce was scrambled and went into a dog fight with the UFO. After a three hour battle,.................................................................... .... the frisbee won. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha .
This is the only real news 'The Herald' actually contributes here. I am really perplexed as to why allAfrica allows them to spam this site with their propoganda. 'The Herald' submits well over 200 items here per week. I don't know how much allAfrica compensates them. Whatever the amount is it only helps 'The Herald/ZanuPF' perpetuate their lies.
I suggest we all boycott allAfrica until they either ban 'The Herald' or only accept 'Kitty rescued from tree' type stories from them.
Another option. Everytime you see obvious propoganda or a nonsensical opinion piece from 'The Herald' report it to allAfrica. They'll get so tired of reading our complaints they'll have to do something!
Crap, there should be an edit option for comments. I just scanned 'The Heralds' submissions and noticed that 80% of them are things only a small percentage of people inside Zimbabwe would even care about. rmkooistra is right, they have no place in a continental forum.
