3 July 2009

Record champions Mmamba Gabunga will start another quest for a Kobil-Bika bya Abaganda Shield when they take on Nvubu at the Muteesa 11 Stadium in Wankulukuku.

URA's captain Sam Mubiru and Police's defender Dan Mubiru will lead the eight-time champions (Gabunga) against a Nvubu side that needed post-match penalties to eliminate Kasimba in the first round.

In the first round game played yesterday, Mbogo needed a James Kabanda's strike in the 68th minute to go past a stubborn Obutiko side that had Muhammad Kaweere sent off before recess at the Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku. The Gabunga - Nvubu tie will be the last game of the preliminaries before the tournament organisers conduct a draw for the first round.

Edward Luyimbazi Mugalu, one of the organisers, said the next round starts on Sunday.
