Minna — The nationwide industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has disrupted the planned Post UME of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna.
Federal University of Technology, Minna 2009/2010 Post UME screening exercise, it will be recalled, was scheduled to hold between Friday July 3 and Saturday July 4, 2009.
Our correspondent gathered that, ASUU members of the institution threatened that under no condition would the examination continue, as their members would not be available to supervise or have anything to do with its conduct.
Confirming the development, the university's Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mrs. Lydia Legbo, in an interview with our correspondent in Minna on Wednesday disclosed that the examination has been postponed indefinitely due to the ongoing strike by ASUU. The university, according to her, arrived at the decision to postpone the Post UME screening exercise at the recently held meeting of the university management where issues bothering on the examination were extensively discussed.
