Zimbabwe: Scientist Wins Award

Harare — A ZIMBABWEAN scientist, Arthur Mandisodza did the country proud after he was awarded an international travel award for presenting the best papers on Haematology at a ceremony held recently in the United States.

The Zimbabwean, was awarded the prestigious Berend Houwen Travel Award after presenting Haematology papers at the 22nd International Symposium of Technological Innovation in Las Vegas-Nevada.

Mandisodza, who is with the University of Zimbabwe's Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences scored a first when he beat other participants from all over the world who had thronged the technological symposium that is held annually to select the best academic papers.

The Chairman of the Medical Laboratories Sciences Department at the University of Zimbabwe, Professor Lovemore Gwanzura, hailed Mandisodza for his achievement, which he said, would go a long way in uplifting the standards of education in the country and had put the University in the limelight.
