Kigali — Rwanda registered their second victory at this year's East Africa Military Games after yesterday's thrilling 24-23 handball victory over Burundi at Amahoro stadium.
The national side got off to a bright start after four goals from center forward and Captain Celestin Hakizimana but Burundi reduced the deficit to one after three strikes from Aime Vyibuka.
With the game tied on 23 goals and heading for a draw, the inspirational captain Hakizimana scored a last minute penalty to gift Rwanda a hard- fought victory.
However, the smiles were short lived as Rwanda succumbed to a 64-24 heavy defeat against a much more experienced Uganda netball side.
It was the first time Rwanda was taking part in a competitive netball competition as Rwandan coach Albert Buhake revealed in his post match interview.
