Kampala — ENTERPRISE Uganda, a business development organisation, MTN Uganda and the Uganda Investment Authority have signed a deal to train small-and-medium enterprises (SMEs) that supply to MTN.
Sealed under the business linkage programme, the training would provide business linkages to enhance the productive capacity, efficiency, competitiveness and sustainability of the beneficiary SMEs.
Rosemary Mutyabule, the Enterprise director for business advisory services, explained that experience had shown that countries that facilitate the development of sustainable multi-national corporations and SMEs linkages integrate their enterprises into global supply chains.
"We shall promote good corporate governance to improve resource utilisation and long-term sustainability and competitiveness for our partners," Noel Meier, the MTN chief executive officer said signing ceremony on Monday.
He disclosed that more suitable suppliers would be selected to participate in the programme.
