Ghana: New Coca-Cola Vending Machines Hit Town

The Coca-Cola bottling Company of Ghana has introduced an exciting new Vending Machine to improve trade, marketing and product distribution in the metropolis of Accra.

The initiative by the beverage giant is on a pilot base, and is aimed at improving the competitiveness within the Ghanaian market, in search of innovations to satisfy consumers who prefer the company's products.

According to the Head of Public Affairs and Communications, Mr. Ike Cujoe, the vending machines have been placed at selected strategic areas to serve the consuming public in the metropolis.

Mr. Cujoe emphasised that "The current placement is on a pilot basis in Accra and would be extended to various parts of the capital city, especially at high volumes areas and the Universities, and then to other regional capitals".

"The vending machines have come at a time when the value of coins has become a very important aspect of regular business transactions", he added.

The introduction of the machine is to help expand the company's distribution network and also serve as additional avenue for use of coins by the general public.

The machine has been placed in some parts of the Accra metropolis including, the boarding gate and arrival hall at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), Silver Star Towers, Ghana Hostel Block 'C' (Pentagon), University of Ghana and at the Ridge Towers.

The machine has a capacity of 600 cans per loading and dispense with all the key brands of the company, which are produced and marketed in the country.

In addition to this innovative concept, the company has additionally promised its valued clients that it would soon import some vending machines that accept cedi bills.
