Monrovia — The Rector of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Rev. Fr. C. Letomber Paasewe has threatened to recommend to the Diocese the ex-communication of any member of his congregation who engages in raping.
He spoke during the Sunday worship service at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.
Rev. Fr. Paasewe said the act of raping has the tendency to ridicule the church.
The Episcopalian prelate further observed that when perpetrators are ex-communicated, it would serve as deterrent to others, but did not disclose the name of any member of his congregation involved in the act.
He challenged members of the congregation to change their lifestyle as they enter the New Year, and noted, "Please stop those bad things you did last year because we are in the New Year and everybody must change."
The Liberian Cleric also urged Christians to live right with God, their neighbors and do away with things that would make mockery of the church.
