Kano — Thousands of Muslims in Kano, staged a peaceful rally and berated Israeli attack on Gaza, which resulted in the death of about four hundred people.

The protesters described Israel as the greatest terrorists in the world and called on international community to take urgent action on Israel to avert killing of innocent Palestinians, adding that the genocide allegedly perpetrated by Israel should be condemned by all lovers of peace.

The group's Spokesman, Sheikh Muhammad Mahmud, said "we Muslims are peace-loving people, it was uncalled for, for Israel to continue to attack Palestinians."

According to him, over 420 people had been killed in Gaza by the Israeli army, and condemned the way Israel carried out the killing of innocent children and women, which he said portrayed them as people who had no respect for human beings.

He said, "what is worrisome was that the so-called United Nations failed to reach a concrete resolution on how to address the ungodly attitude of Israel, saying had it been the war involved an Arab country, the UN will not waste time in taking drastic step to curtail such aggression."

The group, whose protest started from the popular Fagge Central Mosque, and ended at the Emir of Kano Palace, went round in a peaceful rally under heavy security provided by the combined team of Police and SSS who were at strategic locations to avert its hijack by hoodlums.

Speaking to THISDAY, Mallam Aliyu Yusuf Kakaki, said the protest was done in an orderly manner, and called on the United Nations to intensify efforts aimed at ending the attack.

Kakaki said the continued attack on Gaza by Israel needs the interevention of world leaders for a ceasefire, as hospitals in Gaza were running out of basic medical supplies . He said the situation is worrisome and deserves urgent intervention.

According to him, for almost 10 days, the Israel kills more than 300 people in Gaza and several people were wounded as the crisis escalates, adding that "it is clearly in record that Israeli are the enemy of peace and are human rights violators.
