Akwa — The Special Assistant to Government Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State on project monitor, Mr. David Etuk has said the provision of electricity, water and several basic infrastructure in all the communities in the State tops the agenda of the government.
Also on the front burner are employment of youths, provision of free health care and curbing of crime to make the environment conductive for development.
Etuk, however urged indigenes of Nsit Ibom and the people of Asang Ward 5 to throw their weight behind the Akpabio led administration having benefitted largely from the various projects of his government, particularly the Enen Nsit road that for several years was not motorable.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after organising a special Xmas party with politicians of Nsit Ibom extraction, Mr. Etuk said that although 300 projects had been commissioned in 2008 another 300 projects was waiting for commissioning in the first quarter of 2009.
He observed that the state governor has passion to drive the state to a destination and hinted that the state independent power plant would be powered before the second part of 2009.
The parley which was well attended had in attendance more than ten personal aides to the governor, the state chairman, code of conduct bureau, member representing Nsit Ibom in the State Assembly, the LG Chairman, Elder Joshua Eyo Asuquo, who all gave kudos to Governor Akpabio.
