Sokoto State government has presented laptop computer sets worth about N2 million to 15 of its indigenes studying at the Nigerian Law School.
Special Adviser to the state governor on Scholarship and Students Matters, Dr. Muhammed Inname, made the presentation on behalf of the state government on Wednesday at the conference hall of the state ministry of Justice.
He said the state government through the department had already settled the registration fees and allowances for the stu-dents.
The state government, ac-cording to him, decided to give them the computers to be in tune with the global vogue of ICT.
He urged the students to jus-tify the huge amount of money being spent on their education by hardworking to pass their exams.
"The state is in serious need of legal services, and as such we will continue to sponsor our indigenes to study the legal pro-fession to enhance professiona-lism in the state", he said.
In his remarks at the occasion, the state commissioner for Jus-tice, Barrister Inuwa Abdulkadir applauded the state govern-ment for giving priority attention to the training and re-training of legal practitioners in the state.
He said the state government would engage the law students in the state civil service after successful completion of their studies.
Speaking on behalf of other students, Adamu Umar expres-sed appreciation to the state government for its commitment to their education and providing them with the laptop computers which he said would assist them in their studies.
