Nigeria: Etisalat Offers More Christmas Gifts

26 December 2008

Etisalat Nigeria , the dynamic telecom service provider, is living up to its promise to thrill its current and prospective subscribers as it adds flavor to its "recharge, be in charge promo" with the "Gift Redemption Promo" this season. On December 23, 2008, the Telco started the "gift redemption promo" designed to reward subscribers with exciting prizes as they recharge their phones with N500 and above.

Commenting on the refreshing addition to the 'recharge and be in charge promotion' the Vice-President Marketing of Etisalat Nigeria, Mr. Wael Ammar, said: "The brand is gaining the confidence and trust of the Nigerian consumers. This is evident in the rapid growth of our subscriber base. We have introduced the gift redemption to reinforce this experience as a truly rewarding one."On the mechanism of the promotion, Ammar said that the "Gift Redemption" applies to both new and existing subscribers. His words: "When a new subscriber purchases a SIM, at any of our shops, and recharges on the spot with a minimum of N500, he automatically becomes eligible to participate in the lucky dip at our shop. The new subscriber leaves our shop with the gift he picks from the lucky dip."On existing subscribers he said: "The subscriber qualifies for a lucky dip when he reloads with a minimum of N500 purchased from anywhere and wins instantly whatever is printed on the voucher, picked from the lucky bin. All he has to do, is take the recharge card along with his SIM to any of our shops or mobile point of sale nationwide to take part in the lucky dip."

The "Gift Redemption" promo forms part of the "recharge, be in charge" promotion by Etisalat aimed at appreciating the numerous subscribers on the Etisalat network and also adding to the fun and fiesta of the yuletide season. The "recharge, be in charge" promo gives the subscriber 20 per cent free airtime with every recharge made with N500 or above. Mr. Ammar further stated that the customer is central to the operations of Etisalat. "The entire promotion," he said, "is put together with the interest of the consumer in mind. The customers not only get more time when they recharge, but they also stand a chance to go home with interesting prizes like Plasma TV, Mobile phone, Face Cap, T-shirts, Wrist Band, Recharge Cards and Pen."Etisalat Nigeria launched commercial operations in Nigeria in October 2008 with its "Easy Starter" Package. The company is ranked as the fastest growing telecommunications company in the world, serving an aggregate of 74 million customers across 17 countries in Africa, Middle East and Asia.
