Freetown — Leader of the Peoples Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) has started talks with the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) and the two may likely strike a compromise.
Charles Francis Margai, one time staunch member of the SLPP, left in 2005 to form his party that was said to have eventually helped the All Peoples Congress win the run off of the 2007 elections.
The lawyer-cum politician had broken the news right in front of his perceived ally President Ernest Bai Koroma, who was part of a gathering that was in Gbangbatoke for the burial rites of his late mother, Musu Fanny Momoh.
"After my mother's death, Alhaji UNS Jah led a SLPP delegation to sympathize with me and we talked tête-à-tête and agreed on the need to start talking," Margai told the large crowd, which included the first lady, the second lady and senior members of Koroma's cabinet.
High-ranking members of all three political parties were present.
Margai said his change in attitude started after the death of his mother. He revealed that since he pitched tent with the APC during the run-off he had never had any talks with the SLPP until he decided to include the names of some of its members in the obituary announcement.
Margai noted that he would not rest until the APC, the PMDC, and the SLPP come together to give the president the necessary support to build this nation.
"Ernest Koroma is the people's choice, I supported President Koroma to clinch the presidency," he said.
"Leadership comes from God, and if you love your country, you would support the one who has undoubtedly been chosen by God."
Margai thanked President Koroma and his party for the moral and financial support since the funeral.
He said they made history in Gbangbatoke as Koroma was the first Head of State to visit the church.
He also thanked members of the PMDC "the youngest in the (political) family" for the unwavering support.

PHILOGICAL PAST TIME
Sir, we take exeception, principled and militant, to your averment that "[t]here are two parties ---(sic) APC & SLPP" since 'independence.'
First, the the 'parties' are the same, and the sameness, the objective identity, is constituted by THE SOUPIST STRUCTURE that was sired by the British Imperialists and Dictators. The fox, Milton, accepted the structure, lock, stock and barrel.
For a phenomenological description of the SOUPIST STRUCTURE, see, within this site, my "Phenomenological Destruction or Deconstruction (Aufbau) of Soupism."
AND, THE STRUCTURE PERSISTS.
Should you disagree with our postulate, then name one politically determinate DIFFERENCE… [Read Full Text]
I tuink it is crazy to call Sir Milton a fox and Ernest Koroma a buffoon without explanation. By the way, what kind of construct is "soupism" anyway? How can an understanding of this empower the populace the populace?
We unreservedly deem it extremely boneheaded in the dickens to find that our opinion that Milton, whom you "Sir," but we never would, WAS A FOX, and that President Agnes, Prezo Nesto, bla, bla, bla, IS A BUFFOON, is "crazy" ABSENT AN EXPLANATION of your silly, psychobabble, pepeh dokta determination: "crazy."
WE have called Milton a fox, and an explanation thereof is given in the archives in OUR REPRESENTED postings in this site; as for the BUFFOON, THE MORON, THE CIVILIAN SOUPIST, KOROMA, not even the densest and most naive 'Sierra Leonean' would demand an explanation of those… [Read Full Text]
Charles Magai meant to destroy the S.L.P.P that gave birth to him and made him what he calls himself today. He failed with honors because he is a political prostitute that has virtually become a political corpse. He can not eat his cake and have it back. I suggest he stays away to await his buril. He is politcally irrevelent these days. Further mess in national politics is not his best interest. His political profile is of no good value, hence he has become a mathemtical cipher. S.L.P.P. is there to stay, A.P.C came out of S.L.P.P. and so on so… [Read Full Text]
Soupist damage control: who cares about the "prostitution" of Margai?
If Margai is prostitute, then he is not alone: THE SOUPIST STRUCTURE would "transubstantiate" the LAMB into a "prostitute."
ACCORDINGLY, ALL SOUPISTS, THANKS TO THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF THE SOUPIST STRUCTURE, are "prostitutes," including AGNES, BIG WASE, BUFFOON KOROMA, a dude whose command of Freemell's lingua franca, Krio, and her Majesty's significative instrument, British English, is less than sophomoric, almost non-existent, although, we hear, he is krugba ka fof ka temne.
Bra, smell the coffee: APC EN SLPP NAR WAN;
Wake up, we say, from your dogmatic slumber… [Read Full Text]
The political dynamics in Sierra Leone is never going to be strange for those of us who have stayed around the political trends in the country since post independence. There are two political parties-APC & SLPP. If you are not APC,then you are SLPP. Charles Margai is making all these rants because he knows PMDC is on its way of exiting the political arena in mother Sierra Leone. The problems emanating from PMDC is wholly and solely out of dictatorial approach which is not going to be accepted by people who have made dare sacrifices for PMDC thus the exit… [Read Full Text]
