Senator Kaka Malam Yale (ANPP-Borno) has said that the creation of a Ministry of Niger Delta by President Umaru Yar'adua would bring peace in the region.
Yale told newsmen yesterday in Maiduguri that the creation of the ministry would also provide good roads, education and improve on the health delivery system.
He said that the activities of militants in the area in vandalism of petroleum pipelines and kidnapping of people would also be reduced.
The senator called on Yar'adua to appoint a competent person so that the plans of the Federal Government for the area would be realised.
The senator also called on the Federal Government to expedite action on the exploration of oil in the North Eastern part of the country.
He said that such would speed up the economic development of the zone.
