Brigadier-general Tracey Garrett of the US military has paid a courtesy call on President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf at the Foreign Ministry in Monrovia. General Garrett said she was happy to be in Liberia to see first hand the progress taking place in the country. Speaking of the country's security sector reform process, the US army general spoke positively of the exercise and said lessons could be learned and applied to other countries 'without reinventing the wheels.'
Welcoming the United States Army general, President Johnson Sirleaf expressed the hope that her visit and interaction with Liberians will help encourage more females to join the Liberian security forces, particularly the military. An Executive Mansion release says the President spoke highly of the strong partnership between the U.S. Defense department and government in the security sector reform of the country and said the country's defense department looked forward to further collaboration with the US military.
The U.S. military official was accompanied to the Foreign Ministry by U.S. ambassador to Liberia, Linda Thomas-Greenfield.
Brigadier-General Garrett is assigned with the United States/African military command, AFRICOM, based in Germany. She is responsible for marines and marine activities in Africa and Europe.

well thinks 4 the visit general,is ur visit important to us any way? or u have been sent on an assesment mission??
The journalist here should do his fact checking better. Brig. Gen. Garrett is U.S. Marine Corps, not, as twice mistakenly said in the article, U.S. Army.
