President Obama ought to tell the leadership in Nigeria too that they are failing. While I agree that it is easier to find fault with others than to do things myself, the case of Nigeria is looking like a deliberate act on the part of some of the leaders to remain backward. The Ijaws(I am one) are very peace-loving people. The first rebellion against an un-couth authority was in 1895 when the Nembes attacked the UAC for fair trade during the "Akassa raid". Now,the "Ijaw Boys" are forced to carry arms against Nigeria because of the obvious deprivation of our people by the Federal government. One man called Jeremiah Okikilokon Obaxsanjo Aremu became a President and attacked Odi and other Ijaw towns over oil. He killed everybody including domestic animals in site. The general atmosphere in Nigeria is pitiful as there is no development in most states. It is commendable that Bayelsa and Rivers State are doing as well, if not better than most of the Old States. The rest ofd Nigeria is marked by darkness, no light, bad odor here and there as the people sweat it out in the African heat. Food is expensive and most people have no access to higher education. One can go on and on on Nigeria but that will make no sense. The US and the World bodies need to wade into the internal affairs of a country like Nigeria so that it may wake up from it's slumber.
