"Kagame's administration has also developed a reputation for having as little respect for press freedom as Swaziland, Chad and Sudan" - what consituties press freedom? Have you been to Rwanda or done any basic research on the state of press in the country? It is not useful to regurgitate uninformed views of western rights organisations. A casual glance at the private newspapers in Kigali is enough to show you that any half-baked "journalist" can write anything they like about anyone. Or maybe the you hesitate to acknowledge this because the papers are mostly in Kinyarwanda? Please be a little more thorough, you are after all a researcher. Otherwise you are really not telling us anything new.

As an african, I think defending blindly any alleged violations committed by any african administration is kind of foolish especially if you are just from the general public.Because these are indeed happening in one way or an other.I think it is just wise to leave the offender and the offended parts explain or defend themselves.
